I’m only just starting to get into the Christmas spirit now, so todays lettering is made out of tinsel (pipe cleaners).
I’m posting this one quite late in the day, as I’ve been out collecting different shades of sand and dirt, then sifting it, to create todays design – sand in a bottle. This was a true experiment and my first time ever doing anything like this. I would have loved some time to practice, but that’s just how it goes with this project. Also only 20 days to go now!
Before flying back from Wellington to my hometown Auckland tonight, I’m having a much-needed relaxing day, which involved a long hot bubble bath, so used that as inspiration for today’s design. I used a whole large bottle of bubble bath, filling it right up, but after trying to sculpt that, decided to take out most of the bubbles and start with a blank canvas of water, making type with just the bubbles.
Today is the International Day of Peace. So, using this as inspiration, I’ve based my design on a well-known symbol of peace – the lily.
