The last couple of months have been all about houses for me. I’ve helped people move, moved out of my rental property (which got sold), and have just gone unconditional on my first house too, so very exciting times. Unfortunately I don’t move into my new house until just before Christmas, so have spent this weekend moving everything into storage for a few weeks, while we live at my in-laws. So today’s design (a very abstract 11) is a quick pastel drawing inspired by all this.
Some fun hand-drawn lettering today.
A selection of moustaches for Movember!
Day 300! Can’t believe I’m this many days into it, not long to go now. I’m having a very creative day today, it’s the start of Auckland Art Week, during which I look forward to attending many of the events on offer. It’s also the first birthday of Creative Mornings Auckland, which I’m off to this morning. So todays design is some paint splattered in a canvas to celebrate all this.
Today’s design is a rubbing of some old New Zealand coins, bringing back memories of doing this when I was a kid.
A quick, fun, hand-drawn design today. I’d love to have had more time to spend on these cute little worms, but just had to kept it as outlines today.
Today is the Diwali Festival, known as the festival of lights, celebrated in India and other countries. For this festival women often decorate their hands with henna, so inspired by this I drew todays design on my own hand.
This week has been a full-on one, with a huge project going on, tight deadlines and a big presentation, it’s been nothing but eat, sleep work! So here’s a quick hand-drawn design to end the working week. Bring on the weekend!
Today is World Sight Day, a day focusing awareness of blindness, visual impairment and rehabilitation of the visually impaired. So I’ve done another design in plain white paper, creating braille to create the date. It says “11 October 2012″.
A fun, colourful, painted design today, photographed in the studio cutting area.
